Gymnosperm Leaf

Since pinecones are gymnosperms, a pinecone tree’s leaves are an example of gymnosperm leaves. 

Gymnosperm Cone

A gymnosperm is a plant that doesn’t show its seeds because it is enclosed within the ovary inside the cone. A female pinecone is a pinecone that has opened up. This is because it gives a better chance of excepting sperm from a male pinecone, which is usually closed up.

Distinguishing Characteristics Between Monocots and Dicots

Another example of a monocot is rice. Once rice seeds are germinated, only one cotyledon sprouts and another dicot plant are peaches. These plants grow in bundles or more than one.

Same Class Different Order

Two organisms that are in the same class but are in different orders are a dog and human. Both dogs and humans are apart of the mammalian class, but dogs are in the Carnivora order when humans are in the primates order.

Organisms on Different Levels of the same Food Chain

Grass and crickets are apart of the same food chain because crickets eat grass. Grass is known as the lowest level of the food chain known as the producer. They produce their own nutrients in order to live and grow. Crickets are above this level and are known as herbivores because they eat the grass.

Organisms in Same Genus but Different Species

Two organisms that are in the same genus but different species are two types of dogs, the poodle and dachshund! Both animals are in the canis genus, but poodles are known as canis lupus familiaris when the dachshund are known only as canis familiaris.

Protein

Bacon is another example of protein. Bacon comes from pigs, and a lot of meat products contain a lot of protein. 

Organisms in Different Kingdoms

Another example of two organisms in two different kingdoms are trees and mushrooms. Trees are of course part of the plantae kingdom while mushrooms are part of the fungi kingdom.

Evidence of Different Alleles for the Same Trait

Different colored roses shows evidence of different alleles for the same trait. One roses is made white, or one is made naturally red. 

Heterotroph

A heterotroph are organisms that get their necessary nutrients for life by obtaining organic substances. An example are humans. Humans eat other foods to help get the nutrients they need.

CAM Plant

An example of a CAM plant is a pineapple. CAM stands for crassulacean acid metabolism. Pineapples utilize CAM as an adaptation for climates with little rain. 

C4 Plant

C4 plants are plants that bond to CO2 into 4 carbon atoms before starting the Calvin cycle. An example of a c4 plant is corn!

Long Day Plant

Another example of a long day plant is spinach. It usually takes a lot of sunlight in order for spinach to grow.

A long day plant is a plant that flowers only after being exposed to light after longer periods of time. Lettuce is an example of one of these long day plants.

Organisms in Different Plant Divisions

Two plants in different plant divisions are grass and flowers. Grass are known as herbaceous plants because the grow from a base and have narrow leaves. Flowers are a part of the flower plants division which are plants you can grow yourself. 

Organisms in Different Kingdoms

Two of the major kingdoms are animalia and plantae. So I took pictures of birds, which represent the animalia kingdom and a bush that represent the plantae kingdom. 

Biome

Another example of a biome is of course desert. Nevada is part of the mojave desert. The desert biome is a very dry and hot biome that usually receives on average an inch of rain.

Organisms in Different Phyla 

An example of different organisms in different phyla are shrimp and fish, such as salmon. Shrimp are apart of the anthropoda phylum group, which other organisms such as crab and lobster. Fish, like salmon are apart of the chordata phylum.
